Game base learning workshop

Values and goals: Creativity, team consolidation, inspirational and strengthening, identifying participants’ strengths and preferences, coping with change, leadership, decision making processes, courage, determination, vision, experiential participation, playful (we will need to discuss these values and re-define/focus them to your specific requirements, at your convenience)

The inspiration for the workshop came from the process of constructing the Guinness World Record “biggest rocking horse in the world”, which was built in collaboration with thousands of participants from all over the world.
The workshop deals with learning and implementing team and business values through group games, and the puzzles have been designed specifically with this in mind. For example:

Forward planning vs. inspiration and vision
Cooperation and team planning
Defining roles and systems
Determination and diligence
Change management and flexibility
The decision-making process
Situation analysis and critical thinking.
Leadership and creativity
Initiative, efficiency and service
USP and branding
Through game play, my aim is to arouse an emotional response in the participants. Each puzzle has a set of rules and must be solved within a fixed time limit. The games are designed so that some kind of quantitative result must be achieved via group interaction and feedback.
Positive, challenging and intelligent experimentation leaves a far stronger impression than any traditional talk or lecture.

Participants must identify the creatives in their team and work together to bring about an interesting and different solution. There are many, diverse ways to solve each assignment. All puzzles were designed and constructed at the “Horse and Cart” artisan studio. They are original and entertaining, created with the specific aim of arousing curiosity and releasing creativity through play.

The puzzles are fascinating and brilliant, based on the principles of architecture, design, engineering, physics, strategy and creativity.

In our ever-changing, dynamic, fast-paced reality, we have to change our established linear thought patterns, and develop new paths of creativity and lateral thinking. The various games and puzzles create a simulated virtual reality which will reveal:

The future leaders!

The dreamers!  (The visionaries)

The architects!

What’s the connection between technological education and games?
Technological development requires problem solving skills, decision making processes within an uncertain, changeable, developing environment, initiative, creativity and inventiveness, management of complex processes, leadership, and the management of resources, budgets staff and time.

The essence of technological development is the drive to discover, to invent and to be daring… challenging the status quo through creative development, imagination and, most important of all, the passion to break out and experiment.

The games simulate a reality in which the group needs to produce the optimal result, with time constraints, during a process of cooperation which will involve thinking, planning, execution and, most importantly, an understanding of the ever-changing dynamics of our surroundings!
The most important thing for the participants is the task itself!
This task will change in accordance with the goals, values, size and character of the group.
The games force the participants to work together, to manage, to lead, to deal with systematic thought and planning, finding and then actually implementing an intelligent, creative solution.
